Karina Ehrig is a pharmacist. She studied pharmacy at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel from 2006 to 2010. After a short time in the pharmaceutical industry as well as in the public pharmacy, she was working as a scientific assistant in the department of pharmaceutical biology at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel until April 2016. Within the framework of a project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), she wrote her dissertation between February 2012 and April 2015 in the section of analytical and pharmacological characterization of new biogenic active ingredients.
Since June 2016, she has been a scientific advisor in the pharmaceuticals department at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) in Berlin, where the focus of her work is on the benefit assessment of newly authorized pharmaceuticals in accordance with the German Social Code, Book Five (SGB V), section 35a.
